Lovingsy is a mobile dating app that matches users with others who share the same hobbies such as anime, music, and other topics. Aside from being a dating app, users may also use it to meet friends and network.

Project Overviews

Making friends, networking, and finding love are all important components of every adult’s life, and the process of doing so cannot be overstated. Because every adult, introverted or extroverted, has access to a cell phone and the internet, here is a mobile app to help you meet new people.

Project Duration: 2 weeks
My Role: UX Designer

My Responsibilities:

  • UX Research
  • Information Architecture
  • Usability Testing
  • Competitive Audit
  • Wireframing

The Problem

Dating and making real friendships and relationships on the internet shouldn’t be tough, and there shouldn’t be any concern of fraud or catfish accounts on an app designed for genuine interactions.
Furthermore, users do not need to connect with too many individuals who do not suit their taste or niche of interest, especially if they are newcomers to a region.

The Goal

With the number of unfavorable opinions that some people have regarding dating apps these days, I’d like to re-establish the excitement of making amazing relationships online by pursuing the following objectives:

  • To design a dating site that is simple to use and navigate.
  • To assist users in connecting with persons who are likely to be of interest to them.
  • To aid in the reduction of fraud and non-genuine members on a dating app.
  • To create an app that allows for seamless communication via text, video, and voice calls.
  • To create an app that is usable by both introverts and extroverts.
  • To create a dating app that takes LGBT users into account.

User-centered Design Process

I carry out the design thinking method, which is a non-linear interactive approach with five steps to break down the project. Lovingsy into tiny chunks to guarantee that the project’s aim is easily met.

User Research

User research combines observation technologies, task analysis, and other feedback approaches to better understand users’ perspectives, behaviors, requirements, and motivations.

I used quantitative and qualitative research approaches and interviewed potential users in the target user’s age range (18–55) to find out what they believe and desire in an online dating app. I emphasized the pain spots based on the replies I received, and from there I created a deeper knowledge of what would please the users, resulting in the creation of a user-centered dating app.

Focal Point:

  1. Due to a lack of trust and apprehension about fraudsters, 80% of users have not utilized a dating app.
  2. 70% of users have not used dating apps because they feel it is impossible to develop a meaningful connection online.
  3. 85% of introverts prefer to network online but do not know how.
  4. Because there are few options for communication, 40% of users do not trust dating apps.

Pain point:

  1. Because there are so many catfish profiles on dating apps, innocent consumers are easily duped.
  2. Queer consumers seek an online dating service that will link them with other queer individuals.
  3. Apart from texting, there are no efficient ways of direct contact, and anyone may be hiding behind the computer.
  4. Potential consumers desire an app that allows them to effortlessly connect with individuals in similar areas and topics of interest.
